Fall update

So we did hike the Lions on Oct 1st and it was absolutely fantastic. I was dreading it as I thought it would be very difficult, but it wasn't so bad. Going down was painful and hard on the knees, but it was worth it. It's so cool now to look up past the city and see those peaks and know that we were there!
Last weekend was Thanksgiving and after Ty's class and my doing the grind Saturday morning we caught the ferry to Victoria. We went directly to a dinner at Ty's aunts house with 24 people! It was a bit tiring but definitely tasty and good to see some of Ty's relatives that I've only met once. Sunday I hung out with my Mum - made stuffing, did some shopping and then helped get dinner ready. Tina carved her first turkey and it was a nice dinner with only 6 of us. It was nice to help out more and tasted better that way too. The turkey was very tasty - a fresh grain fed turkey was the best that my Mum could do on a short notice of me wanting a free range/organic turkey. If it's not tofurkey, it's a happy turkey! Sunday we went and saw Tina's place downtown for the first time - great to be downtown. We visited with Ty's parents a bit more and my Grandma helped me fix my yoga mat bag I'm knitting and have now finally finished.
It was a nice weekend, but hectic as usual whenever we go to Victoria. I'm glad to have this weekend here.
This week was a good week. I dropped my resume off at Oqoqo on Robson St. on Wednesday and had a mini interview there. I really want to get involved with them so hopefully something will come of it. Either way, I felt so good for having taken that step so we'll see. I may drop one off at the W 4th store too, but they have shorter hours and would be harder to get home from.
I'm also going on a week of yoga straight. I'm on day three now and it feels so good and takes away so much stress. I think I am a much happier person when I do yoga. Pushy people on the bus/skytrain don't bother me and I just feel sad for them that they are so unhappy that they have to take it out on poor strangers. Maybe it's the yoga or maybe I'm just turning into a happy person - who knows! Whatever it is, it's working.
The leaves are so beautiful on the tress at Shadbolt Arts Centre in Burnaby right now - I'm going to try and take some pictures tomorrow after yoga because they are so perfect. I know pictures won't really do it justice, but I'll try to capture it. Hopefully they are still gorgeous. I wish I could paint or draw them, but I haven't gotten that far in my drawing class yet. That is also what I should be doing this weekend - practicing drawing, particularly portraits, they are so hard!
Have a wonderful fall weekend everyone!
